Missing it

I am entering the 5th month of my long break from medical school. Honestly, I haven't been doing much medically-related things recently. The nearest possible medical element I am in touch is most probably watching House MD on the television.

I really must admit one thing - I am starting to miss medical school. It seems that the longer I am into my extended gap term break, the further I feel I am away from medical school. It is just so surreal at times when I tell people what I study in the university.

"What do you study?"

"Medic?" it comes by almost like a question mark at the end. Well, medicine is something so beautiful yet so complex. Only during the exam time do I wish I had not taken something that kills the cells in my brain so fast. Let us not even talk about palpitations and the entire adrenaline rush idea. Sometimes, I feel so helpless. I need someone to talk medical jargons to. I need friends who can understand how medical life is all about.

Well, I vow to myself that I must pick up a book which is medically-related and relevant to my studies soon before I get drifted so far away that I cannot climb back to my currently abandoned course. I need the same frequency.

That is when I figured out this amazing blog by college teachers who are teaching anatomy and physiology. It is called the The A&P Professor. I think it is an awesome place to gain more knowledge in the very essence of medicine. Sometimes, year two or three medical students tend to over emphasize pathology and all things related to diseases that most of them forget the beauty of anatomy and physiology in the human body.

We should indeed learn about the unique design before we get into the diseased state. I am sure this blog comes by as something useful for college students. It does not matter if you are a medical student or not. You can be a nursing student, biology student or even doing a general science degree. It is something useful for everyone.

It must be the high acidity!

I have been working out everyday. I have been sweating and feeling fit. However, funny that the tummy bulge gets more and more prominent each day. No, I am not pregnant for goodness' sake. This is a virgin typing, okay.

I mean that abdomen layer of fats! I read an article on Cosway catalogue about the acidity in our blood that causes fluid retention and tummy bulge. I believe now that the reason why I still cannot lose weight must be the acidic blood I have.

There is this mixed vinegar that is recommended for those people with high blood acidity. How I wish I could lower the pH of my blood. Then again, what food is alkaline? Can't think of any..
